Seiko is bringing out a women's bracelet that has an LCD wrapped around it. It can show the time or it can show a dancing display of numbers. Here's a link to it on Popgadget.com.
What I love about these sorts of things (despite the $2000 price tag - not that I was going to buy it anyway) is that we're increasingly finding ways to extend the display of information. It's no big leap of imagination for this sort of thing to be a little wider and display headlines, photos, stories, etc.
When one considers how elegant the iPhone display is, or the digital picture frames, at what point will this be put to other - and more portable - use?
There was something just the other day about being able to control the TV with thought patterns that are measured from a worn device - so will this sort thing turn into a digital mood ring, showing to the world what you're thinking about?
Imagine this used in bars - (OK, so they wouldn't have to actually be functioning devices for the guys) and the devices would show any number of responses to those around the wearer. Nah, that would take the mystery out of the chase, wouldn't it?
Milton Friedman said that "The power to do good [design cool digital display jewelry] is also the power to do harm." [these could be like digital tattoos - ever changing, ever obnoxious].
NASA uses a device on the International Space Station called a cPod (dAmn sTeve jObs!) that takes biometrics - so why couldn't this LCD bracelet also let you know how your health is?
